Lolita 1962
Stanley Kubrick directs James Mason, Shelley Winters and Peter Sellers. This is creepy enough without the excuses made for paedophilia. I always remind people that there was a time in Medieval England when young woman (14/15/16) were married off. Child brides remain common. Lust, longing and love for beautiful young woman cannot be condemned – but it should be their peer age group who do the loving, much of which would be kept at arms length through their early teens.
Lolita 1997
Adrian Lyne directs Jeremy Irons, Meanie Griffith and Dominque Swain. Hardly a treatment that would have people queuing up to see it. Lacks the subtlely of Stanley Kubrick’s version and worst of all you feel sympathy for a ragged man having sex with a girl in her early teens.
The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner 1962
Tom Courtenay

Young lovers lose each other at Luna Park but later discover that they are neighbours. (I like the premise of lovers losing each other)

Several Carradines, including Ku-Fu Man David.

John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Henry Fonda, Robert Ryan, Rod Steiger, Robert Wagner, Paul Anka …
Look at Me 2004
A successful, highly egotistical novelist ignores his plump teenage daughter while lavishing attention on his pretty young wife and baby.
(Simple premise, sounds like the relationship between my later father and older sister after his separation from our mother).
Looks Who’s Talking 1989
John Travolta
Lord of the Flies 1963
The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship of the Ring 2001. The Two Towers. 2002. The Return of the King. 2003.
The world is in deadly peril. Tolkein served in the First World War and lost his son in the Second. How he can say, and others accept his view, that this isn’t an allegory for fighting the Germans in both wars I do not know. Many events and scenes are so reminiscent of existance in the trenches.
Lorna Doone 1951
Lost Boys 1987
Kiefer Sutherland directed by Joel Schumacker. Despite critics kids and early teens love it.
Lost Horizon 1937
Shangrila. It touched me when I saw it age 8 or 9. The idea of a hiddent Utopia on earth.
Lost in La Mancha 2002
Terry Gilliam’s doomed attempt to make ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.’ Jean Rochefort would have been a wonderful Quixote.
Lost in Space 1998
Matt LeBlanc from Friends.

The Lost World 1960
The Lost World: Jurassic Park 1997

(A premise for a documentary series)
