Where do I begin?

How are you creative?

Currently I’m working on a set of pen and ink illustrations of trees in an ancient wood. These are worked up into watercolours or prints with chin collée. The first trees I did with of street trees around Lewes, then a beech and horses in Northumberland and this for my sister’s brother in law.

For the last seven years I’ve been attending a life drawing studio at Charleston Farm House. Over the years I got into my stride to the pony that I’d do multiple sketches on coloured wax crayon on large sheets of wallpaper backing paper. Once home is work this up as equally large painted collages. This represents my transition from observational drawing to graphic designs and printmaking.

My career has been spent in the visual arts: advertising, corporate communications and online education. This has seen me directing and producing ‘drama reconstructions’ for the likes of the Crown Prosecution Service and even a short film for Channel 4.

I relax by strumming the guitar and singing classic Elton John, Cat Stevens and David Bowie songs.

In my youth I enjoyed acting and singing with credits including Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, The Dracula Spectacula and The Caucasian Chalk Circle.
